Nou Word of the Day!
I was reading my previous post (yes, I sometimes re-read my stuff). I was amazed at how much I didn’t know about some of the things on the most searched list from Yahoo! I was thinking it would be rather cool if I could read from a website and when ever I wanted to know more about the word, I could just click on it. At first I thought of making something like this since it wouldn’t be that difficult (in programming terms) but being that I like instant gratification, I did a little searching… I found one by Answers.com so Im giving it a try.
Answers.com’s interface is VERY small and discrete and I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t take any extra time to load the page. As you double click on ANY word on the webpage, it will do its best to find the definition. And, if its a noun, it tends to show a picture of the thing the word represents.
Given the fact that I like to learn nou things everyday, I’m going to be listing a “Nou Word of the Day” — on a daily basis. (they will be located below my postings) Before you cheat and just double click on the word, try to dig into your subconsciousness and see if you can figure it out!
ALSO! If you have some Nou Words you want to have placed on the site, let me know by either emailing them to me OR leaving them in a comment to this post.

Wow!!!
Awesome description and creative way to use and display the Word of the Day…
Thanks, Scott.
By the way, if you want to display a word of the day widget on your blog or personal homepage, Answers.com recently came out with a whole widget gallery where you can generate such a feature… http://www.answers.com/main/widget_gallery.jsp
